Why this work matters
The crisis shouldn't be
the beginning of the response.
Jessica has seen what happens when communities are forced to navigate urgent needs while organizations are still trying to assemble funding, volunteers, supplies, information, and support.
Those experiences shaped a different question:
Not simply, “How do we respond when disaster happens?”
But
What can we have ready before it does?
The time to prepare to help people isn't after they need us.
A guiding principle
A foundation built through experience
This work didn't begin in 2025.
Bryant & Co. Foundation may be new, but the experiences that shaped its mission are not.
- Earlier
Humanitarian + Housing Leadership
Experience serving people navigating housing instability and complex community needs.
- 2010
BP Oil Spill Response
Disaster-response experience following one of the nation's significant environmental disasters.
- 2018
Woolsey Fire Response
Experience supporting disaster-relief efforts following the Southern California wildfire.
- 2025
Eaton & Palisades Wildfires
The experience that became the catalyst for formally establishing Bryant & Co. Foundation.
- Today
Bryant & Co. Foundation
Building a proactive model centered on preparedness, response, trusted resources, and long-term recovery.
Each experience changed the question.
Lessons from the work
Experience changed
the question.
Instead of asking
How do we respond when disaster happens?
The work led to a different question
What can we have ready before it does?
People
Build relationships with volunteers, professionals, organizations, and community leaders before they're urgently needed.
Resources
Identify funding, supplies, information, and trusted resources before people are searching for them in a crisis.
Systems
Create practical ways to mobilize support quickly rather than building the infrastructure after disaster has already happened.

The work behind the mission
Real-world service shaped the Foundation's emphasis on people, resources, and readiness.
From experience to action
Bryant & Co. Foundation
is the next chapter.
Jessica's experiences reinforced a simple truth: communities are better served when preparation begins before the emergency.
Bryant & Co. Foundation brings those lessons forward by helping build the funding, volunteer capacity, trusted resources, relationships, and practical systems communities may need before, during, and after a crisis.
The Foundation wasn't createdto wait for the next disaster. It was created to prepare for it.
Before
Prepare people + resources.
During
Mobilize support.
After
Support recovery.
Prepare Respond Recover
Ready before the need
The Foundation is being built
before it's needed.
Disaster preparedness takes people with different skills, resources, relationships, and experiences. There's a place for you in the work.
